Breaking the Silence

It was founded in 2004 when a platoon of largely leftist soldiers, many of whom had grown up on Kibbutz and had joined up with their friends and served together.

Not easy reading, but gives a good idea what the CPT workers and their associates do, and of the daily struggles of Palestinians.

This is a newsletter from the Christian Peacemaker Team who we met in Hebron. It describes their daily routine.

Daily routine

Each day (apart from Fridays) the team carried out school patrol in two
locations at the start and close of the school day.  The team has been
observing that the new brigade of soldiers in the area (the change happened
after the Pesach holiday) have implemented the school patrol escort order
poorly.  Each day, too, between early morning und late afternoon the team
accompanied local shepherds in nearby areas.  Team members during this
period were Lorne Friesen, Maureen Jack and Diane Janzen; two members of
Operation Dove (Doves) were also on project.
